Earl Grey Green Tea-Green & White

This lovely classic has been further enhanced by the use of Sencha green tea flavored with the oil of bergamot and flowers. Oil of bergamot comes from the rind of a citrus fruit which grows in the Calabria region of Italy. Pure top quality oil of bergamot is expensive but no blend or man-made flavoring can match the aroma and fine flavor of the real thing. According to an old legend, this tea is named for Earl Grey, a British Prime Minister, to whom a Chinese noble entrusted its secret recipe for saving his life. Unfortunately, this story is not true. But we hope this won?t prevent you from enjoying our version of the ever popular Earl Grey tea.

Brewing Instructions:
Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 6 oz cup; heat fresh water until steam rises (180 F);let steep for 1 minute. Do NOT oversteep or tea may become bitter. You can infuse the tea leaves multiple times. Green tea has been found to be a powerful aid in weight release programs. Contains less caffeine than a cup of coffee. Sweeten with SBS Teas Vanilla Moon Powder or Sweet Purple Haze Sugar.

Iced Tea Instructions:
Put 6 teaspoons of tea into a heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 3-5 minutes or longer. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the pitcher straining the ingredients. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.
